Katie Update

Here's Katie after helping daddy with his chocolate ice cream!
My darling daughter is changing before my eyes and I started this blog so I would have a record of all the amazing things she does. I honestly think that I will remember, but I have already forgotten so many great things that she has done or said. So.....here are the latest and greatest.
For Christmas she got a Little People toy and it sings the ABC's. She was in the process of learning the song and when that toy came along it really helped her learn it better. She can almost sing the whole song. I have to intervene in a few places otherwise the song will never end. Its pretty cute. She has been counting to 10 since she was about 18-20 months old. She is working on getting up to 20. Lately, she says 9, 10, 11, 8, 13,..... She will count with me to 30 by repeating after me. We play counting games in the car or when we have to wait in lines. I'll do anything to occupy a 2 year old.
Last night as we were saying Katie's prayers in bed she added her own comment. She prayed for Hayley, her friend that comes and plays with her each day. It was so sweet.
What a sweetheart! Thank you Lord!
We walked through Target tonight and she told me what colors things were. So, I guess it is safe to say she knows her colors. She knows most of her shapes too. And don't get me started on the animals. She really wants to ride an elephant. Hmmmm.... we'll see.
I also learned that she now knows what she likes. I showed her cute tops and skirts, but she vetoed them all. Next we tried on sneakers cause she needs some real play shoes. We tried on a couple pairs and when we put on "the shoes" she lit up. It was so precious to see her excited about something she really liked. Now who knows if she will still like them tomorrow (she's 2), but for now she owns the first pair of shoes that she picked out!
We had fun together. I found some fun books to do with her. We are even going to try waterpainting. So we will be learning cutting, tracing, and painting. I bet I will get some fun pictures after our first painting day!

Once upon a time..............

There lived a sweet little girl named Katie. Oh my precious little Katie! There is quite a story behind this picture. I will not bore you with the details. But thanks to Maranatha I got this amazing picture of my little princess! Katie hated getting dressed up in the tulle dresses, but magically it turned out really sweet.
